Miriam Schiff
Miriam Schiff (PhD. MSW, MA), a social worker, school psychologist, and couple and family therapist, is a Professor and Zena Harman Chair in Social Work at Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. She is also the chair of the Baerwald School and Hadassah University Medical Center research group on social work in health care. She heads the Authority for Research Students in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Her research interests are (a) the moderators and mediator factors explaining the associations between man-made trauma, natural disasters, and health and mental health indicators among adolescents, young adults, and vulnerable populations (e.g., the ultra-Orthodox Jews in Israel); (b) rehabilitation and grief and bereavement among veterans and their families; (c) social work in health care and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on frontline healthcare professionals; (d) translational research from academic research to the field of social work and from practice wisdom to theories and research in the areas of social work in health care.
